About Alcomet

Alcomet Limited was founded in 1998 by its current managing director, Gary James and in the company’s infancy its core business was supplying aluminium, copper alloys and stainless steel in all forms to a customer base of generic engineering companies.

Alcomet has since evolved to become a specialist supplier of electrical metals and components to the electricity sector and expressly for electricity substations.

Alcomet now prides itself on being the country’s leading supplier of electrical material and bespoke solutions. Our enviable reputation and success has been built up by forging strong relationships with engineering professionals within the electricity and transmission sector. By listening to them and working closely with them we have developed a range of bespoke solutions in response to a ‘critical’ industry need.

The Guardian Security range has now been widely adopted by key clients within the electricity utilities sector where it has been built into procurement specifications as mandatory policy. It has also been adopted by electricity substations in a wide variety of vertical and utility sectors including:

As an endorsement of quality and excellence, HM Queen Elizabeth II honoured Alcomet with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, expressly for the development and launch of the Guardian Security Range.

Alcomet was also the recipient of the E.ON Changing Supplier Award for People and Culture, demonstrating the success that can be achieved when a supplier and customer work collaboratively sharing one objective.
