General information
We started bringing over wines from Italy in 1998, with our family's wines from Montepulciano, in Tuscany. They've now moved south, to Basilicata, where they make a spectacular Aglianico del Vulture, and we have found a raft of fantastic small independent grower/wine-makers keen to have their wines sold in the UK.
Up until now we concentrated our efforts selling to restaurants and pubs, while keeping track of supermarkets gradually “hovering” up the High St and many of our acquaintances have been asking us to sell to them: "Why don't you do it on line guys?"
Well why not indeed.
Only the other day we opened a bottle of our Morellino di Scansano DOCG for a client and the Sangiovese just sang out as soon as the cork was pulled. Bright ruby red and oozing spices and ripe fruit. That's why we do this, it is marvellous stuff, and surely we ought to share it.
