Our Story

Alamgeer Foods is a family company with its roots going back to 1979. This is when Mohammed Hafeez, the founder of Alamgeer Foods, opened a small grocery shop in Small Heath, Birmingham, England.

Along with selling groceries, we also began to import curry powder. This became an immediate success with our customers and within a decade, we grew from our humble beginnings to become a major importer and distributor of the finest quality authentic Asian foods.

We pride ourselves as the leading manufacturer and distributor of "Bassar". This is a term indigenous to Northern Pakistan and Kashmir meaning Curry Massala. For almost two decades, we have been using our secret recipe of traditional spices and herbs to produce authentic Curry Massala. Our recipe, that our grandmothers used, is to this day a beautiful, tasteful, watering odour; not pungent, but evocative. This is the only powder mix that is needed for an excellent curry, no other additional spices are required! In addition to this, our extensive range of products includes lentils, spices, grains, pickles, deserts and drinks.
