London Gateway

General information

DP World London Gateway is a major new development on the north bank of the River Thames in Thurrock, Essex. It comprises a large new deep-water port, which can handle the biggest container ships in the world.
DP World London Gateway also hosts one of Europe’s largest logistics parks, providing effective access (by road and railway) to London and the rest of the UK.
The port uses world-leading technology to increase productivity and reliability and reduce costs for shipping lines and the logistics industries.The development will dramatically increase the capabilities of the Port of London in handling modern container shipping and help meet the growing demand for container handling at Britain's ports.The project is being undertaken by DP World, an enabler of global trade.
Berth One and Two are fully operational and the DP World London Gateway Logistics Centre opened in May 2015. Berth Three is currently under construction and will be completed by mid 2016. At full development the port will have six deep-sea berths and the logistics park will comprise over 9 million sq ft of logistics and distribution centre service space.
